Van Shabu & Bar in Dorchester's Savin Hill is now open. Thrillist reports that the new spot serves "Japanese hot pots with a little Vietnamese flair" and small plates including beef tongue, garlic fries, and over twenty hot pot components. Boston.com says that the space, which was formerly Nash's, was purchased back in 2008 by the husband and wife team who now run the restaurant. The fashionable interior features long, granite communal tables conducive to side by side slurping and a full bar complete with the requisite sake cocktails.
