According to a post on Chowhound by restaurant critic MC Slim JB, there may be a future for the former Pops space in the South End, which closed last October. Slim reports that the team behind Grotto in Beacon Hill and Marliave in Downtown Crossing is looking into opening a new restaurant where Pops once stood. Grotto calls itself "decadent Italian" and Marliave is known for old-timey continental fare and classic cocktails, and as of yet there is no news about the new venue's concept, but Slim has a hunch: "Anyone want to take bets on 'comfort food'?"
