The Globe's Dishing has revealed details about the hotly anticipated opening of Guchi's Midnight Ramen, a pop-up courtesy of three current and former O Ya chefs including Yukihiro Kawaguchi, or "Guchi." Dishing reports that this weekend Guchi's will test its recipes with industry pals including chefs Barbara Lynch of Menton, Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa and bartender John Gertsen from Drink. Bondir will host the test sessions, then Guchi's will go public at a yet undisclosed date at yet undisclosed locations around town.
Given the fact that Boston does not currently have the level of ramen shop so beloved in New York, the hotness of both ramen and pop-up's, the impressive resume of the talent behind this venture and their promise to keep prices friendly, you could safely assume that this is a huge deal for the local dining scene and probably the biggest news since we heard about Sweet Cheeks.
