Boston Business Journal reports that the site currently home to Anthony's Pier 4 will undergo a $150 million renovation to become a new housing and retail complex including over 300 residential units. The news confirms rumors that Anthony's was not long for this world as the waterfront continues to blaze into its new incarnation as Boston's Innovation District, thereby fulfilling mayor Menino's hottest, wettest (because it's the waterfront) fantasies. The Globe brought news of the development last summer and the BBJ says the Boston Redevelopment Authority approved the plans last night. With Anthony's gone, and perhaps relocating, surely a newer, hipper, flashier restaurant will take its place among others in the neighborhood including Trade and Legal Harborside.
