As of noon today the South End gained a new source of uber-fresh, sustainably grown produce with the opening of Siena Farms South End. The store is a front for Siena Farms in Sudbury, which is owned by Chris Kurth, who is married to Oleana and Sofra Bakery chef-owner Ana Sortun. The new store will sell produce and flowers from the farm year-round and is located near The Butcher Shop, Stir, and B&G Oysters on Waltham Street. The store's website says they'll supplement their offerings with produce from other farms and will also sell locally made prepared foods from Sofra among others. Siena Farms South End is attempting to do something similar to Lionette's and Don Otto's before it, but with more focus on vegetation than animal flesh.
