Hawthorne in Kenmore Square Rumored to Open Soon

Hawthorne, a new craft cocktail bar and small plates spot at the Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square, may be opening within the next two weeks. That rumor comes from a Chowhound commenter and was picked up by Boston Restaurant Talk, who adds that Grub Street says Hawthorne will open "within the year" and that BostonInnovation claims an opening by the end of fall. Last month, Hawthorne posted jobs on Craigslist. The venue was developed by the talent behind the nearby Island Creek Oyster Bar and Eastern Standard and will occupy the former digs of Foundation Lounge.
