Harvard Square's Casablanca may be up for sale, but its owners have opened a new restaurant called Casbah near the Fresh Pond Shopping Center. On the Mediterranean meets Middle-Eastern menu are starters like fried eggplant and almond couscous, salads, skewers and fries topped with sumac, a tangy, crimson red spice. Casbah is open for dinner and will soon serve lunch as well. In addition to the usual, the full bar will also stock Lebanese beer. As far as decor, Thrilled.com reports "live dinner tunes from a small stage, and a funky lighting scheme with LEDs playing off oatmeal-colored fabric."
