A beacon of both Japanese and French cuisine in Lincoln will close its doors following Mother's Day service on May 8, according to a Hungry Onion user. AKA Bistro Lincoln is the work of chef Chris Chung and his business partner Christian Touche, and the restaurant is known for offering a bistro-style menu as well as a sushi bar and special omakase seatings.
Chung previously spent six years at the helm of Ken Oringer's innovative sushi concept UNI, but he departed that venture in 2010 to open AKA Bistro with Touche at 145 Lincoln Rd. A post on Instagram indicates that a guest dining at the restaurant last week heard directly from Chung that he would close AKA Bistro this coming weekend.
An employee reached at AKA Bistro on Friday morning confirmed that Sunday will be the final day of service for the restaurant.
Update 5/6, 11:15 a.m.: Following the closure of AKA Bistro, Chris Chung will do some catering, along with some pop-ups in Boston, while he fundraises for his next venture, he told Eater.
Update 5/9, 8:30 a.m.: A note posted on AKA Bistro's Facebook page addressed the closure.
