A Brookline restaurant and specialty Italian grocery store known for its quaint interior and filling pastas will get a sister restaurant in Newton in a few weeks. Bottega Fiorentina is just about ready for its final inspections, according to Cristina Ferrini, one of the owners.
The restaurant previously announced its plans to expand to Newton Centre in April 2015, naming a location on Centre Street, next to a Panera, and it appears the address of the new Bottega will be 1231 Centre St. Bottega Fiorentina previously had an additional location in Back Bay, which closed in 2012.
Brookline's location offers a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and antipasto, plus pasta made to order with one of the restaurant's 13 daily sauces or 16 specialty sauces (available on select days).
According to co-owner Andrea Ferrini, the Newton location will have the same menu as the Coolidge Corner restaurant, including the Wednesday and Sunday special, where all the regular pastas (with a choice from at least 15 sauces) go for $4.99. There will also be Italian gelato.
Ferrini also said that Newton's location will have 16 seats, a window counter, one picnic table (like the Brookline spot), and some regular tables as well.
It appears there could one day be more Bottegas, as a note on the website invites interested parties to reach out about opening additional locations.
