With a grand opening celebration yesterday, Pure Cold Press Juice & Salad Bar is officially serving kosher and vegetarian sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts, and of course, juice, in Coolidge Corner.
Located on Harvard Street, right next door to the area's longstanding kosher eatery, Rami's, Pure Cold Press is a solo venture from Haim Cohen, the namesake Rami's son. "The time is right for me to do my own thing and apply the lessons I've learned at Rami's to something new and fresh," he said.
Pure Cold Press is definitely fresh: Sweet basil and rosemary plants grow inside the restaurant, giving the space a unique vibe, according to Urban Daddy. "It’s like being inside of a fruit crate in the very greatest of ways—wooden floors, walls and high ceilings," the website reports.
The cafeteria-style cafe has a salad bar, plus sandwiches, soups, and specials based on seasonal ingredients. Vegan and gluten-free options are prominent, too. There are 10 specialty juices on the menu, as well as pressed coconut and other milks.
Pure Cold Press is open Sunday - Thursday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays, a Rami's employee confirmed. The shop is closed on Saturdays.
